Director of Photography
Having done so many projects, I’ve found that the key to success is effective prep work. Sitting down with the director, getting inside their head and understanding the specifics of their vision is not only essential, but highly efficient. On set, when the clock is ticking, knowing what the director wants without extra conversation saves incredible amounts of time. This process starts early on, with script breakdowns, look boards, visual examples and concise conversations. I’ve found that my best projects had the best pre-planning, and quite often production went smoother for it.
